Celebrating The Life of Johnny (Jigsaw) Jones

Mr. Johnny Jones was born July 29, 1951 in Gainesville, GA. to the late Arthur Henry Jones and the late Condise Jones. He departed this life on February 5, 2020. He was preceded in death by a son, Tyreze Jones; a daughter, Khalalah Jones; and great grandson, Tyson Damons.

Johnny was fondly known as “Jigsaw” to all. Johnny loved the Lord. He was a faithful and longtime member of Macedonia M.B. Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He attended Sunday School and Bible Study faithfully. Before leaving Georgia, he was a member of Pleasant Hill UMC and grew up as a member of First Baptist with his family. Johnny attended the Gainesville City school system. After graduation, he went into the Navy. He was a loving and caring person. Furthermore, his smile was contagious. He always had encouraging words for everyone. Johnny loved kids and he would do anything he could for them. He was a collector of things he enjoyed selling. His wife said “Johnny was a man of outreach.”

Johnny leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Elaine Jones; daughters, Johnesia Smith of   Loganville, GA, Charice Lewis of Bronx, NY, Tonya (Antwan) Jackson of Oakwood, GA, Lucretia (David) Hughes of Loganville, GA, and Terri (Omar) Steward of Richmond, VA; sons, James Jones,                    Tobias (Demia) Borders, and Javonti (Mee) Jones, all of Gainesville, GA; granddaughters, Khalalah Borders, Eulannie Jones, Jamesha Jackson, Alani Lewis, Lele King, LaTonya Harris, Keyosha (Georgia) South, Maylisha (Josh) Stone, Briosh Moore, Na-Dyah Reed, and Lainey Hughes; grandsons, Khalil Jones,       Kevin Borders, Kabel Borders, Issac Jones, Marsaac Jones, Devante Studivant, Billy Smith and         JaQuan (RC) Harris; siblings, Connie Jones of Atlanta, GA, Howard (Cora) Jones of Gainesville, GA, Arthur (Priscilla) Jones of Alto, GA, Gecobie Stein of Gainesville, GA, David (Carla) Jones  of Hampton, GA, and Tonya Jones of Lula, GA; aunts, Lois Thomas of Canton, NJ, Claudine Goss of Buford, GA. and Wynonia Moss of Gainesville, GA; uncle, Dorsey Mize of Gainesville, GA; sister-in-law, Carneila Franklin of     Manhattan, NY; brother-in-law, John (Melissa) Franklin of Gainesville, GA; special cousin, Bradley Mize  and dear friend, Charles Watson, both  of Gainesville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday February 18, 2020 at 1pm at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC in The Rev. Charlie, Jr. and Conchita Sims Memorial Chapel. Viewing will be Monday February 17, 2020 from 2pm-7pm. The family will receive family and friends from 5pm-7pm.
