Connie Delores Sims was born on July 23, 1949 in Gainesville, GA. to the late Rev. Charlie Sims, Jr and the late Conchita Sims. She was called home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Winston Sims.
Connie leaves to cherish her memories to a loving son, Machon Sims; grandchildren, Christopher Sims and Elon Sims; sisters, Angela Witt and Sandra Sims; brother, Dexter โTyroneโ (Angie) Sims; nephew, Gerik (Tyema) Witt; nieces, Stephanie Witt, Tomeki (Nigel) Lavender, and Pyper Sims; great-nephews, Nigel Lavender, II, Nicholas Lavender and Gerik Witt, Jr.; great-niece, Nia Lavender and Gianna Witt; partner in life for over 20 years, John Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 12pm at St. John Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, July 16, 2021 from 1pm -7pm at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC, in The Rev. Charlie, Jr. and Conchita Sims Memorial Chapel. The family will receive family and friends from 5pm-7pm. Due to the adherence of the CDC Guidelines and Protocol, we are only allowing 250 people to attend the funeral ceremony. Masks, as well as Social Distancing, are required.
