Remembering In Love Jacques Laviord Pyant

Jacques Laviord Pyant was born September 22,1983 in Atlanta, Georgia to James Stewart Yarbrough and Clarissa G. Pyant. He was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 16, 2022. Jacques was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Barbara Brawner and Corine Yarbrough.

After graduating from Reeltown High School in 2002, Jacques decided to further his education and attended Alabama A&M University. In 2006, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications.  During his matriculation at Alabama A&M University, Jacques was a standout running back for the AAMU Bulldogs football team. During his last season, he assisted his team in bringing home a win in the Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC East) Championship Game.

Jacques has been an athlete all of his life being involved in sports such as football, baseball, and basketball. He also had a genuine love for music, cars, motorcycles and people. Jacques was a wonderful brother and friend. To know him is to love him; he had a pure heart of gold. Friends and family describe him as someone that had never met a stranger. He possessed a big vibrant personality that simultaneously kept you inspired, accountable, and laughing.

Jacques is survived by his son, Jayden O. Pyant and Jayden’s mother Regina Lewis; parents, James Stewart Yarbrough and Clarissa Pyant; sisters, Saretha Pyant, Brittney Curry, Tallisha (Tiara) Etakisse, and Z’kerra Osborne; brothers, Christopher King and Khalid Yarbrough; special thanks to his bonus grandmother, Mary Evelyn Gauntt; bonus dad, Kenny Gauntt; bonus uncles, Ronnie (Kimberly) Gauntt, Anthony Gauntt, and Darryl (Inita Paige) Gauntt; bonus aunt, Patricia Robbin; cousins, Eric (Amber) Robbins and Duane Robbins; a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday December 1, 2022 at 2pm at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC in The Rev. Charlie, Jr. and Conchita Sims Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10am until the time of service.
