Terry Tyrone Morris was born on March 12, 1956 in Gainesville, GA, to the late Wilburn Morris and Mary Alice Morris. He was called home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2025. He was preceded in death by his sister Stephani Morris.
Terry grew up in San Diego, CA. He was of Baptist faith. He graduated from Morse High School. After graduating from Morse High School, he enlisted into the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. Later in his life, he relocated back to Gainesville and pursued a career in trucking. He loved driving and he was very passionate about his career. He definitely loved traveling around the entire United States and exploring the road. His pastime was spent in his truck and spending time with his family. To sum everything up, he loved life.
On April 27, 2011, he married the love of his life, Rosa Venita Gray Morris. Terry was a gentle person and possessed a high level of character and integrity. Furthermore, he had a humble spirit. To know him was to love him. Everyone who he came in contact with, he was kind, friendly, and welcoming to them. His faith in God and his wisdom was shared amongst all of his family as well as his friends.
Terry leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife of fourteen years, Rosa Venita Gray Morris; sons, Rodney M. Young, Jr. and Redarrius Gray, both of Gainesville, GA; daughter,
Ronisha Bailey (Horace) Lanier of Miami, FL; nephew, Jamal Davis of San Diego, CA; niece, Al’ lyssa Amos; uncles, Ray Morris of Atlanta, GA and Mike Morris of Gainesville, GA; and a host of other great nieces and great nephews, cousins and other relative and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday May 3, 2025 at 1pm at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC in The Rev. Charlie Sims, Jr and Conchita Sims Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday May 2, 2025 from 5pm-8pm. Repast will be held in The Rev. Charlie Sims, Jr. and Conchita Sims Fellowship Hall.
