Mr. William Rucker was born on April 3, 1953 to the late George Rucker, Sr. and Priscilla Rucker. William was called to be with the Lord on April 3, 2020. He was preceded in death by his sister, Constance Mattox.
William accepted Christ at an early age and attended St. Paul United Methodist Church. William graduated from Gainesville High School in 1971and worked for SCM Printing Company for a number of years. He was the President of the Gents Club in Gainesville. William was extremely talented, knowledgeable, and creative. His primary love was being a Master builder. He helped his brother, Tim, build his dream home from the ground up, which took nine months to complete. Furthermore, William also enjoyed playing the saxophone and was a master chess player.
William leaves to cherish his memories to his children, Jamila Rucker McGuire and Mantevius Rucker; grandchildren, Markiesha Staham, Akerra Lucas, Marcus Lucas, Jr., and Mantevius Rucker, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jacob Statham, Zion Porter, Jerimiah Statham, Jada Statham, and Skylar Lucas; siblings, George Rucker, Jr., Thomas Rucker, Tim (Sharon) Rucker, Johnny Ward, and Tony Stephens; special friends, Earnest Mason, Michelle Jackson, Danny Glenn, Billy Ray Tanner, Alvin Cheeks, Rickey Smith, and Terry Edmonds.
Visitation will be held Wednesday April 8, 2020 from 1pm-7pm. The family will receive family and friends from 6pm-7pm. Due to the Coronavirus mandate enforced by Governor Kemp, only 10 people at a time will be allowed. Please follow us on Facebook Live @ sims.mortuary.7 to livestream from 6pm-7pm.
