Homegoing Celebration for Willie Mae Gay

Willie Mae Gay was born on October 12, 1931 to the late Hershel Guthrie and the late Maggie Guthriein Atlanta, GA. She was called home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2021. She married Nathaniel Gay and was blessed with four children.

Willie Mae worked as a housekeeper and was a dedicated mother who raised her children. Her quiet spirit spoke volumes in her actions when helping her family and friends. She was an inspiration and help to her roommates and other residents in her nursing home facilities until her physical and mental abilities limited her involvement. Her words were filled with wisdom from the joys and pains of her life experience. Her physical presence will be missed, but the love she gave will always be in our hearts.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her four children, Jameel Fareed (Eugene) Gay, Barbara Easley, Clarence Gay, and Nadine Howard; sisters, Alene Burke and Jesse T. Clark; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Friday May 14, 2021 at 2pm in Forest Hill Cemetery, Forest Park, GA.
