George Clinton “Boogie” McGlockling was born on November 9, 1952 in Royston, GA to the late Beotrice McGlockling and the late Azzie Lee White McGlockling. George departed into eternal rest on December 15, 2022 at his home. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra McGlockling; and brother, Joseph McGlockling.
George was employed at Franklin County DOT for many years up until he became disabled. He joined Royston Grove Baptist Church at an early age. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. One of his favorite places to dine was at Royston Drive In. The sausage and gravy biscuits, along with the chili cheeseburger, were his favorite. Those who knew him knew he loved to say “What A Fool” when conversing with his family.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories to his three loving daughters, Sandra McGlockling and Tonya McGlockling, both of Royston, GA and Sonya (Elgin) Chapman, of Athens, GA; sisters, Bessie Lee McGlockling, of Royston, GA and Sally Scott of Baltimore, MD; brother, James McGlockling of Royston GA; six grandchildren, Tomorrea (Alexia) McGlockling of Hartwell GA, Casandra Teasley and Akira Allen, both of Royston, GA, Elgin and Elijah Chapman, both of Athens, GA, and Jada Chapman of Madison, GA; three great-grandchildren, Ashton and Marlen McGlockling and Royal Drinkard; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday December 22, 2022 at 2pm at Royston Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Garden.
