Kenasha Tyrella Collier Gore, affectionately nicknamed “Kim” by her grandmother, was born to the late Margaret L. Collier on August 13th, 1979 in Conway, SC. After a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis and having fought the good fight for over twenty years, Kenasha slipped away in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, July 4th, 2024. Kenasha was preceded in death by her grandmother, Elizabeth Collier.
She grew up in Conway, SC and attended Horry County Schools. Kenasha graduated from Conway High School in 1998 and eventually continued her studies at Everest College. She worked as an administrative assistant until declining health forced her to resign. Kenasha was a wonderful person and mother who was blessed, strong, extraordinary, intelligent, phenomenal, and intriguing; yet none of those attributes were more important to her than being a child of God. Early in life, she handed her life to Christ as a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Burgess, SC. Her relationship with Christ became her anchor as she persevered through life’s trials including a near fatal car accident in 2005.
Despite the ups and downs of life, Kenasha continued to recognize, honor, and proclaim the goodness of God. She was a fighter and no matter what was thrown her way, she continued to smile. Even when she lost her ability to speak, her countenance and bright eyes spoke for her.
Kenasha enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family and being around positive things and people. She loved life and living it to the fullest each day with no regrets. Her quiet, gentle spirit, along with her smile that could light up a room will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind two children, MiCheya and Westley Gore V of Elon, NC; one sister, Lakesha Wallace of Fairburn, GA; two aunts, Mattie Collier of Conway, SC and Linda Chestnut Collier of New York; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday July 12, 2024 at 2pm at The Brook United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. Burial will be in Heaven’s Gate Cemetery in Murrells Inlet, SC. Viewing will be from 11am until the time of service.
