In Loving Memory of Lucille Brawner Mackey

Lucille Brawner Mackey was born on October 4, 1928 in Gainesville, GA to the late Cleave Brawner and the late Gertrude Brawner. She was called home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Mackey; children, Willie James Mackey, Joe Henry Mackey, Bobby Charles Mackey, Johnny B. Mackey, and Janice Mackey; brothers, Cleo Brawner and June Brawner; sisters, Sara Turner, Leila Brawner, Kathileen Davenport, and Margaret Brawner.

At an early age, she was baptized as a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church. She attended Fair Street School during segregation. Lucille worked for several years at Country Pride until she retired. Lucille loved her family and was committed to supporting them throughout life. She loved to hang with her family and friends. Also, she loved to dance and cook.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her children, Sara Ann Faulkner, Gussie Martin, Linda Mackey, Horace Mackey, and Eddie Mackey; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Billy Ramsey; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday June 27, 2026 at 3pm at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC in The Rev. Charlie, Jr. and Conchita Sims Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Jefferson. Viewing will be Saturday June 27, 2026 from 1pm until the time of service.
